Baked Fish With Lemon Butter And Pepper Sauce At The Olde Brick Restaurant

Baked Fish With Lemon Butter And Pepper Sauce At The Olde Brick
Restaurant

A friend of mine treated me to lunch at the Olde Brick House in Amsterdam today.
Their menu was tempting but after looking over what they were serving I decided on the special of the day. It was only $6.50 and they were willing to serve it my way at no extra change. Now who would not love that?  The special today was baked fish with lemon butter and pepper sauce. They used Tilapia fish for this meal.
I would have preferred Cod just because I like a stronger fish but I have no complaints about the way this fish was baked or tasted. When I placed my order I was asked if I wanted French fries I said no may I have a side salad instead of French fries ?  They were more than happy to accommodate me with my preference and at no extra charge. I don’t know a lot of places that would do that!
I enjoyed my lunch so much that when I was done eating I had to ask what they had done to the fish. They told me that the Tilapia filet was marinated in butter lemon and fresh ground pepper then placed on the grill. Before I left Amsterdam I stopped at Aldies to buy my groceries for the month and I made sure I got a bag of Tilapia to take home with me. You can bet this week I will make this fish on my grill!
I liked the restaurant and I can tell you the food was great! I only had a couple of very small complaints. First we had to go to the counter to order and get our own beverages instead of the waitress taking the order at the table. When the meal was ready we were served our lunch by the waitress at our table. It really didn’t bother me but it did bother my friend. I asked her why and she said we are at restaurant  not a pizza joint or a fast food  place  they  should come to the table and take our order .She made a good point and I agree after thinking about it she was right.
My second complaint is really not a complaint it’s a preference and I am sure only a pepper snob would have noticed or even given the issue of not having fresh ground pepper on the table or brought to the table a second though.
I am a confessed pepper snob so that was a little disappointing for me but no one else seemed to care.
I would recommend this restaurant and I do plan on going   back there again when I am in that area and give some of their other menu items a try since my first experience was so good I am lucky I will find another great meal I can make at home like this fish I had today.
