Making your money work at Subway

Making your money work at Subway

````
Today I was talking to a friend and I had him laughing.
I was telling him that someone I sell for brought me a 12” sub from Subway and that I felt a little guilty about telling that person when he asked that I would like a tuna fish sub.
  He said why? I said because a tuna fish sub to me is like a guilty pleasure. There is nothing you can do with it but eat it.
Then my friend asked me what else can you do with one of their subs? I asked him if he really wanted to know and he said yes.
I really don't think he expected the answer that I would give him but maybe I gave him some good ideas he could use and not just a good laugh later.
At least I hope so but a good laugh is OK too.
I told him what I did when stopped  and bought one of the five dollar subs from Subway. First I  said I would make sure I got the sub on an Italian roll and  I always  ordered a cold sub usually cold cut combo or spicy Italian with all the extra veggies I could get without paying extra for them . Then I would ask for the dressing in a cup so it would not get the bread wet before I was ready to eat it. I told him I always ordered the onion dressing but there are other delicious dressings available as well.
I said I don’t get mayonnaise because I have condiments at home so I don’t need a small amount of it to use on the sub and the dressing I could use for another purpose later if I did not eat it with the sub.
He said that makes sense what so unusual about that? I said it’s not that unusual how I order the sub its different what I do with it when I get back home.
He said I am afraid to ask but it's like an accident that you cannot turn away from looking at. I just cannot stop now so tell me what you do with the sub.
First I prefaced it with you know how thrifty I am and he said yes we have been friends for a while now so I know you squeeze every penny out of a dollar. I should have been insulted but let’s face it he was telling the truth.
Now back to the sub. When I get back home with the sub I always do the same thing. First I undo the sub and dump all the salad fixings meat and cheese into a dish.  I then get out two slices of bread. (Since I don’t pay for my bread it’s a good idea to use the free bread when I can put the roll to better use later)
and put some of the lettuce cheese and tomatoes and mayonnaise on the bread along with a sensible amount of cold cuts. Then I have a very nice sandwich for lunch or dinner and have enough cold cuts left to make another sandwich or add to the salad later.
I use the dressing of course for the salad I will make from the sub fixings if I don't use it on the sandwich.
The roll I use in the next day or two by slicing each side in half and I make garlic bread out of it. At times I use the garlic bread to make a pizza for dinner or just freeze the garlic bread until I am ready to use it.
Out of a five dollar sub I now have made three to four lunches or dinners justifying the purchase of the sub in the first place.
That way I don’t feel guilty about spending the money on a sub from Subway and I have made my money work for me.
He laughed but admitted it was not a idea.
I agreed with him  but then again why wouldn’t I it's my idea.
Any way you look at it how can it be wrong to make your money work for you while eating well and at the same time enjoying something that tastes so good ?
 Nothing at all if you were to ask me!
