Peppered Béchamel Sauce with Sausage

Peppered Béchamel Sauce with Sausage

The other day I stopped in Dollar General and they had a new product. It’s called old fashioned pepper gravy.
It’s a white sauce with pepper. If you add a little bit of nutmeg you have an easy béchamel sauce.
That’s what I decided to do today. Keep it simple and make a couple of sausage patties that I will break up in the gravy and serve over toast points. Side dishes will be frozen peas tossed with some cardamom, and cottage cheese served on a bed of chopped up lettuce.
Here are the directions

Peppered Béchamel Sauce with Sausage

¼ quarter package of old fashioned pepper gravy
¼ cup of water
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
2 sausage patties

Directions

Cook gravy and add sausage

2 pieces of toast

Savory Peas

Savory cardamom peas
1 tsp. oregano
 ½ tsp cardamom
 2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley

Directions:
Cook frozen peas then toss with spices.

Cottage Cheese and lettuce.

The new peppered gravy was tasty. I think most people will like it as is. I did add extra pepper.
But then I am a pepper lover and would naturally add more pepper.

There was enough left  after I had my dinner for another meal.
Since this is a classic for breakfast I think tomorrow I will make this sausage and gravy and put it over some poached eggs.
I will really get my money’s worth and enjoy this
really simple and easy to make meal. The best part is you will have a meal that is worthy of a fine restaurant. But then your worth it aren’t you?

I think you are so enjoy!
