Inside Out Cup Cakes
A couple
of days ago I was getting out all the things I needed to make my cookies and
bark when I came across some silicone cup cake molds I bought earlier this
year. I thought they were cute when I got them but was unsure what I would use
them for.
Now here
they were again and again I was faced with the question what to do with these
cupcake molds. The only reason for the question of what to use them for is
because they are much shallower than the average cupcake tins.
I didn’t
think about it long instead I got the rest of the things I needed for making my
cookies and bark out of the pantry and busied myself making a list of the
things I would need from the store.
Today I
went shopping to get what I needed. It was when I was in the Dollar Tree the
idea hit me what to make with these molds.
It came to
me when I saw Mrs. Fields cupcake mixes.
You cannot
get much better chocolate chip cookies than Mrs. Fields so the cupcakes have to
be good too. That’s when the idea hit me why not combine two cupcakes to make
one and put the frosting in the center!
This is an
experiment so I am not going to make this stuff from scratch instead I bought
two boxes one in vanilla and one in chocolate.
Then picked
up some whipped frosting in vanilla and chocolate and added to the basket some
black walnuts and sprinkles and I was all set.
I came
home and made the cupcakes. Well just one batch I was not going to waste both
boxes of cupcake mixes if this idea did not pan out.
After the
cupcakes were cool I frosted the top of one cupcake and sprinkled it with sprinkles
then a second one I sprinkled the frosting with wild black walnuts.
Of course
I am the taste tester so I had half of each one.
I think
they turned out great!
Give it a
try why not do something different with cupcakes?
If you don’t
have the cupcake pans like I do then just fill have way up in your standard
pans.
Then when
they are cooled do as I did with mine and all that is left after that is to
enjoy!
