Sticky Buns from Pop Open Biscuits

Sticky Buns from Pop Open Biscuits

Hanukah is here and Christmas is coming. Lots of people visiting and I have a new obsession.
Finding recipes using the pop open canned biscuits.
Here is the first recipe I am going to share.
I call them Sticky Buns other call them simply Cinnamon Buns.
Let me give you a quick story about Sticky Buns.  I bet you knew that was coming.
Anyway my brother and I were in Junior High and I had just gotten us kicked out of Catholic School. Can you imagine some people even to this day remember that I had done that? Anyway we were put in a public school and this school had lunches you could buy.
They were terrible of course but my brother and I found two things we like a lot and it would become a regular lunch for us.
The first thing was instant potatoes. We had never had that before and we liked them. The other was Sticky Buns. Sticky Buns were buns with cinnamon and walnuts and of course frosting. Why we both came to the same conclusion that we liked the combination I don’t know we just did. To this day I like both no matter how plain or fancy the meals I make or have these two things remains on the top of the like list.
Here is the recipe for a quick and easy Stick Bun.
It’s a real money saver and something really good to serve your overnight guests in the morning for breakfast with steaming hot coffee.
Sticky Buns

2 cans of buttermilk biscuits (5 per can)
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup cinnamon
1/2 cup of  brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Icing:
Powdered sugar
Milk

Directions

Preheat oven at 350°F.

Separate biscuits from can and pat each one down to flatten.

Overlapping each biscuit make two rows (there should be two rows of five over lapping each other).

In a small bowl, melt butter and mix in the cinnamon, brown sugar, nuts, and vanilla extract. Brush generously over biscuits coating entire surface.
Roll the biscuits to form a 6-8 inch log. Cut both ends off, and then cut 2 inch slices.

Place in cake pan, forming a circle and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk to the consistency of thick syrup.
Once rolls are cooked, remove from oven and drizzle the icing all over the rolls.

Let stand for about 10 minutes or until icing hardens.

See I told you it was easy! Its up to you if you want the frosting. For me the gooeyer the better!
Enjoy!
