Quick
Tomato & Pasta Soup
Today it is a very cold winter’s day in
upstate NY. As I write this it is below zero. This seems like a good day for
homemade tomato soup with pasta.
Here is how I made this soup:
Quick
Tomato & Pasta Soup
Ingredients
•1 ½ teas of
garlic, minced or 1 teas of ready to use minced garlic
• 1
teaspoon dried Italian seasonings
• 1/4
teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
• 1
28-ounce cans crushed tomatoes
• ½ cup water
• 2
teaspoons sugar
• 1
cup nonfat or low-fat milk
• ¼
cup pasta
Directions
1. In
crock pot add all ingredients except milk and pasta/
2. Cook
on low for five hours
3. Add
cooked pasta and milk during the last half hour of cooking
Later when dinner is ready I will get out the
trusty George Forman grill and make a grilled cheese sandwich.
This is so traditional I may even make a
glass of chocolate milk!
Mmmmmm so good on a cold day like this!
I am sitting here eating my dinner and I would not change a thing about this soup! It tastes like you always hope that this kind of soup will taste. You will not be disappointed!

In a couple of days add a few meatballs and some kale, spinach,
or escarole to the soup and you will have an entirely different meal!
