BOURBON BEEF BALLS

BOURBON BEEF BALLS

Over the last couple of years since I started writing this blog I have mentioned that most of my dinners are cooked with alcohol even though I don't drink because I don't like the taste I do like the flavors and the benefits of using alcohol when I cook.
So I have decided to share some of these recipes. Many of which you can substitute soda. For example this recipe you could use root beer and liquid smoke instead.
I hope you enjoy making some of them.
Here is an easy one to prepare:

BOURBON BEEF BALLS

Ingredients:

1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 tbsp. oil
4 oz. can tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. crumbled bay leaves
1/4  c. bourbon

Directions:

Shape beef into 1 inch balls. Brown on all sides. Drain; pour tomato sauce over meat. Stir in bay leaf, salt, pepper. Cover; cook over low heat 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in bourbon. Serve with toothpicks.

Why Bourbon in this dish? Bourbon will t add a flavor of liquid smoke and molasses that is always delicious with beef and pork..

Serve this with a side of rice and enjoy!
