Brown Sugar & Butter Ribs With Oatmeal Apple Cobbler

Brown Sugar & Butter Ribs With  Oatmeal Apple Cobbler

Tomorrow Sunday again and of course I want a good Sunday dinner without the work and cost.
Tomorrow I am going to make an old favorite of mine, what else
Spare ribs. A few weeks ago my favorite store Gabriel’s had boneless spare ribs on sale and I picked up a small package.
Tomorrow I am going to get out my electric frying pan and melt some butter in the bottom then place the spare ribs in the pan and brown the first side. You will want to brown each side of the ribs I think it looks better and tastes better with the ribs browned in the butter.
When I turn the ribs over I will then top each spare rib with sliced apples and brown sugar then cover it and let it cook on a low heat.
Next I will make an oatmeal apple cobbler.
Below are the recipe and the way I will prepare the cobbler.
Since the ribs are already cooking (by the way pork chops work just fine in the dinner)

OATMEAL APPLE COBBLER

Ingredients:

6 pared sliced baking apples (you can used canned apples)
2/3 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. Bisquick
1/4 c. firm butter

Directions:

Ungreased quiche dish or 12 x 9 x 2 inch glass pan. I don’t know if my pan is a quiche pan it’s just the right size. I picked it up the thrift store for a dollar.
 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut butter in with oatmeal, brown sugar and Bisquick until crumbly.
This makes what is called a streusel.
Mix streusel mixture in with apples.
Bake 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees.

By the time this oatmeal apple cobbler is ready to come out of the oven the dinner will be ready to serve.
Turn off the ribs and uncover.
Let it stand while you heat in the microwave some frozen peas that have been sprinkled with some salt, pepper, and cardamom then topped with a dot of butter.
Serve with some of grandmas apples sauce (apple sauce blended with whipped egg white and cinnamon)
Dinner is now ready.
While eating dinner brew some fresh coffee to serve with the cobbler.
When you are ready for deserve a little vanilla ice cream next to the cobble would be so good! The coffee  for your beverage is just the perfect foil to all the sweetness,
When all is said and done you will be satisfied and happy knowing you had such a good Sunday dinner and so little work!
Enjoy!
