DEVILED STEAK SANDWICHES
Easter is over and now I need to use up my colored hard boiled eggs.
I was not sure how I would use them until I went grocery shopping yesterday and was able to purchase a small steak and a bag of chibatta rolls marked down to a dollar.
That's when the idea came to me an I decided I would make a steak sandwich topped with the hard boiled egg on a chibatta roll.
Here is how I will make it:
DEVILED STEAK SANDWICHES
Ingredients:
1 small steak
2 tbsp. salad oil
1/2 med. onion
1/8 c. bottled steak sauce
1 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/1 tsp. sea salt
1 chibatta roll buttered
`hard boiled egg, sliced
Directions:
Fry steak in hot oil for 2 minutes, each side. Set aside.
Reduce heat to medium; cook 1/4 cup water, onion, steak sauce, brown sugar, mustard and salt until onion is tender, stirring occasionally.
Return steaks to skillet and coat with onion mixture. Serve on chibatta, topped with egg slices.
You can make this sandwich with toast and a sunny side egg if you prefer.
I believe steak and eggs are a natural combination and when you put it together with seasoning I have listed above you get a meal that is very satisfying and touches your taste buds in an enjoyable way.
Enjoy!
