Jewish/Mexican Matzos Pizza
Today
I went down to Dollar General in Burnt Hills to get some milk and bread. On my
way into to store I saw several items marked down. Among the items that were
marked down were cans of tomatoes with green chilies. I have discovered I love
this combination and picked up several cans
and brought them home.
The
cost after the discount was twenty five cents a can. Now how can you go wrong
with a price like that?
Later I decided to see what I could make that
would include a can of these tomatoes.
So needless to say it was time to search the
pantry and the refrigerator for inspiration then put what I found together with
recipes from the net.
I
found Matzos crackers that I always have on hand, then I found some sauce and a
bag of Italian shredded cheese.
Next
I searched the internet to see if I could get an inspiration for these
ingredients.
I
did and this is what I made:
Jewish/Mexican Matzos Pizza
Ingredients
1/4 cup spaghetti sauce
2 matzo crackers
1 pinch garlic salt
1 pinch dried oregano
3/4 cup shredded
mozzarella cheese
1 can of tomatoes and
green chilies drained
1/4 cup sliced black
olives
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
degrees.
Spread sauce on the
pieces of matzo.
Sprinkle garlic salt and oregano over the tomato sauce.
Cover with cheese, tomatoes with green
chilies. and olives.
Place pizzas on cookie sheets.
Bake for 5 minutes at
350 degrees, or until cheese has melted.
This is like a
Jewish/Mexican pizza!
Now how can you go wrong
with that combination?
Enjoy!
