German Goulash
I wanted to make goulash but I decided to see if I could find a twist on an old favorite and I did.
I think you will enjoy this as much as I did.
Here is what I came up with:
German Goulash
Ingredients:1/2 lb stewing beef, cubed
1/2 big onion peeled and diced
1/2 large carrot, (or two small carrots) peeled and diced
2 potatoes, peeled and diced
1 small can peeled tomatoes
1 tablespoon spaghetti sauce
1 TBS dried rosemary
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 TB sweet red paprika
1 TBS garlic powder or1 peeled crushed fresh garlic cloves
1/2 cup red wine
1/4 package of dried onion soup mix
Sea Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
Sour cream & noodles to serve.
Instructions:
Add the potatoes in the bottom of crock pot then add the carrots followed by the meat and tomato sauce on top.
Top with herbs and spices.
Pour on wine.
Cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 6-7.
Serve with noodles or rice or like stew by itself.
If you want to make it authentic then buy German noodles I use egg noodles.
This is a good twist on an old standard.
