Green Beans & Bacon
I think hands down my favorite vegetable is green beans.
That combined with green beans how can you go wrong?
Here is how I made them:
Green Beans & Bacon
Ingredients
1 can cut green beans, no salt added
2 strips bacon
1/2 onion finely chopped
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 Tbls sea salt
1 can of water
fresh ground pepper to taste
Directions:
Cut the bacon into 1/2 inch strips. In a sauce pot, fry bacon over medium low heat and set aside. Saving the bacon drippings, turn the heat up to medium high.
Drain the green beans and place them into the hot bacon grease.
Let the beans fry for a couple minutes in the oil.
Next, add the dried spices into the pan and stir
Stir to combine
Fill the can that the beans came in with water and pour that over the mixture to cover beans. Add more water if necessary.
These are done after about 10 minutes of simmering
Add the bacon to the top of the beans
Enjoy!
