My Version of Bourbon Street Steak
Candy is dandy, liquor is quicker together they make a good steak better!
LOL sorry I could not resist. I decided that I wanted to make my quick and affordable version of a Bourbon Street steak.
I could not afford bourbon. I don't drink bourbon and it seemed silly to pay fourteen dollars to buy it for one recipe.
So as usual I had to come up with my own version of this favorite recipe at lot of restaurant make. I based this one on the Applebees recipe.
I used everything in their version with a few tweaks that made it an affordable recipe to make.
Here is my version of this recipe:
My Version of Bourbon Street Steak
Ingredients:
1 Steak
1/8 cup whisky (I use whisky because it is less expensive)
1/4 cup of steak sauce (like A1 mine is the Aldies version)
1 teaspoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon honey (or the already made honey mustard)
1/2 teaspoon taco seasoning ( you can substitute Cajun seasoning)
Sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
Pat of butter
***I like to add mushrooms and onions to the bag its up to you if you do it. Then I put them on the grill with the steak. I like my vegetables with a little crunch to them if you like them fully cooked start them before the steak goes on the grill. It's all up to you.
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients except the steak together and mix.
Once the ingredients are mixed place in a zip top bag along with the steak and shake to cover the steak.
Leave for two hours or overnight or all day while you are at work in the refrigerator.
When you are ready to cook heat the grill to hot then then put the steak on the grill. Grill about five to eight minutes on each side.
Turn only once.
It is then ready to eat but before you do top the steak with a pat of butter. You can not believe how decadent and delicious it makes the steak when you do.
I don't us honey in my home. I just don't like it. But I do have honey mustard that you get at the deli department of the grocery store. So I use that instead.
As I often tell you think outside of the box and then do it your way.
That is exactly what I did.
I believe you will find the steak full of flavor and delicious.
Enjoy!
