Pasta With Sausage

                                       Pasta With Sausage

I bet that all of you understand what a challenge it is to only use what I have available in my kitchen to make dinner not to mention breakfast and lunch. Though I will confess that lunch is usually the single serve popcorn or fruit.
I don't often eat three full meals a day unless I have a real hungry day.
You can ask my friend Liz who often at lunch with me at work I don't think she ever saw me eat a real lunch. It was usually yogurt or something like that. Believe me I had to work at getting over weight!
Anyway today I planned on making Italian sausage patties on the grill.
It was so cold I decided something more hardy was in order for my dinner tonight.
I decided pasta with the sausage and what ever I could find was the answer.
I was lucky I had a jar of my favorite jar sauce. A small jar, also a half box of corkscrew pasta, we were off to a good start. so digging around some more I found a can of tomatoes, then I remembered I still had some flat leaf parsley. good, good this was coming together.
next I was off to the spices. Ah good! I had Italian seasoning, fennel, and oregano. Now had a dinner .
I made the pasta then added the ingredients. I made it early so the sauce would go into the pasta. I like it that way. Then for dinner I heated the pasta in the microwave and then cut up some fresh onion when I was ready to eat.
It turned out really good. I enjoyed it and its easy to make if someone needs a good, inexpensive, and fast meal this one would fit the bill.
Here is what I did:

Pasta With Sausage

2 sausage patties
1/2 box of pasta
1 small jar of sauce
1 small can of tomatoes
1/4 cup of flat leaf parsley
1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon of oregano
1 tablespoon of fennel
sea salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Brown the sausage
2. Cook the pasta in boiling water
3. Make the sauce adding the remaining ingredients except for the        onion.
4. When the pasta and the sausage are cooked combine together       and place in the microwave and heat for five minutes.
5. Place in the refrigerator and when ready for dinner heat the      amount.
6. top with chopped onion and serve.
