Mexican Burgers
I received an email with a recipe for a Mexican Burger. I looked it up but there were way too many expensive ingredients in it so I came up with my own version and it was delicious.
Here is my verison of a Mexican Burger:
Mexican Burgers
Ingredients:
1/4 pound ground beef (70/30 mix is best for a juicy burger)
2 tablespoons of seasoning mix
2 ounces shredded Mexican cheese
2 slices pepper jack cheese
2 burger buns
2 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked
Sliced jalapeños peppers from the Dollar Store (you will need about three or four slices)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Spray the grill or frying pan with cooking spray, then preheat to medium-high.
Place the ground beef in a large bowl. Add the taco seasoning and mix with your hands until just evenly combined.
2. Divide the meat into 2 equal balls.
Place half of the shredded cheese in the middle of each ball.
3. Use your hands to encase the meat around the cheese. Pat until you have covered the cheese completely and have formed a burger patty.
4. Place the patties on the grill, or frying pan close the cover, and cook undisturbed (do not press down on the patties) for about 3 to 4 minutes.
5. Using a spatula, flip the patties, close the cover again, and cook until the patties are cooked through, about 3 to 4 minutes more.
6. During the last minute of grilling add a slice of pepper jack cheese to each patty.
7. Place a patty on each bun bottom, top with bacon and jalapenos.
8. Add top bun and serve immediately
