Bad Girls Version of the Diet Cabbage Soup
I of course named it this tongue and cheek.
The other day I saw this diet posted again and I was just deciding what to do with my quarter head of cabbage and this was a delicious way to use it.
I tried this diet many years ago. Of course it did not work but I liked the soup.
Over the years I have added other things and now it is amazingly good!
Here is my version of this soup:
Bad Girls Version of the Diet Cabbage Soup
Ingredients
4 head of cabbage, chopped
1/2 cup celery, diced
1/2 cup white or yellow onion, diced
1/2 cup carrots, diced
1/2 green bell pepper, diced (I use a cup of frozen peppers & onions)
2-3 cloves garlic, minced( I use the ready to use garlic in the jar)
2 cups chicken broth (save the rest for when you reheat the soup)
14 oz can of stewed tomatoes
1 large or two smaller potatoes chopped
1 boneless skinless chicken breasts chopped
2 tablespoons of Italian seasonings
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
fresh ground pepper black pepper
sea salt
1 cup rice
Instructions
Put everything in the crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours.
Add rice to the crock pot a half hour before serving.
Then enjoy!
Taste broth and adjust seasoning if needed.
This is really good and not that far off from the orginal recipe only this one I believe you will enjoy!
