Christmas Lasagna For One or Two
This year I will be alone so I have decided to make my Christmas Eve and my Chrismas Day dinners ahead of time so I can just relax and rest. What a treat that will be!
I have decided to make Lasagna for Christmas day.
I also decided to make it very special.
Here is what I did:
Christmas Lasagna For One or Two
Ingredients:
1 can of tomatoes with peppers and onions
1/2 cup of Spaghetti Sauce
1/2 onion
1/2 pepper
2 mushrooms
1/2 pound hamburg
1/2 Italian sausage
3/4 cup red wine
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon of garlic
1 teaspoon of garlic salt
1 teaspoon fennel
Sea Salt to taste
2 scoops sour cream
1/2 cup shredded Italian cheese
Sauce:
1 can of tomatoes with peppers and onions1/2 cup of Spaghetti Sauce
1/2 onion
1/2 pepper
2 mushrooms
1/2 pound hamburg
1/2 Italian sausage
1/4 cup red wine
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon of garlic
1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt
1 teaspoon fennel
Ricotta:
1 lb Ricotta
2 scoops sour cream
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
Noddles:
1 small box of Lasagna Noodles
1/2 cup of wine
sea salt
Directions:
Add noodles to boiling water you have salted and added a 1/2 cup of red wine.
While the noddles are cooking make your sauce.
Start by adding peppers, onions, and mushrooms to a hot frying pan and allow to cook about five minutes.
Add the garlic and seasoinings.
Let cook for about two minutes then add the can of tomatoes
Let cook for about five minutes then add a 1/2 can of Hunts Tomato sauce or the sauce you prefer
Add 1/4 cup of red wine
Allow to cook on low while your noodles are cooking and you are making the Ricotta.
To the Ricotta add sour cream and Italian seasoning and mix.
When the noodles are cooked you are ready to assemble your Lasagna.
I used a smaller pan for my lasagna since it will be a smaller size than usual
I cut the noodles to fit the pan I used.
Before assembling I sprayed the pan and dusted it with Parmesan cheese (I used the cheese instead of flour) adding another depth of flavor
First put the first layer of noodles
next the sauce
on the sauce add half of the Italian shredded cheese
Then another layer of each and top with the shredded cheese.
You are done.
Bake in oven for about 75 to 95 minutes.
Let stand for about 20 minutes before serving.
This will allow the Lasagna to set up and be easier to serve.
Serve with a romaine lettuce salad and Italian dressing and enjoy!
