Milk Gravy & Chicken
This has been a sad and rough week so cooking was the least of my worries. Today I told myself you have to stop and start eating correctly.
I have a lot of Tyson frozen chicken in the freezer and decided to do something with the chicken chunks.
This can be done of course from scratch.
This is what I made:
Milk Gravy & Chicken
Ingredents:
1 cup chicken broth (of course you can make this from stock)
1 tablespoon of wondra (regular flour is fine)
2 teaspoon of butter or margarine
1 cup of chunk chicken breast
1/4 milk
Directions:
1. In a sauce pan melt the butter then mix in the wondra
let the flower and butter cook together for a couple of minutes so you don't get the raw flour taste.
2. Next add the chicken stock slowly and mix with the flour and butter.
This is going to make chicken gravy.
Allow the stock to thicken then add the milk and allow again to thicken
3. Once the gravy is to your desired thickness add the cooked chicken chunks and allow the chicken to heat together for a couple minutes and your milk gravy and chicken will be done.
Now what to serve with it:
There are a lot of things that would go good with the chicken and gravy every from stuffing to noodles.
I had a couple things left over in my freezer so I am using that.
I will add sweet potatoes, dressing, corn, and cranberry sauce.
For desert my next door neighbor brought over two muffins.
She is a great cook so I am looking forward to that for desert!
If you have never tried milk gravy give it a try its great with chicken and if made with beef broth it is fantastic over chicken fried steak.
No matter what you decide to use it with enjoy!
