Glazed Pork Chops

Glazed Pork Chops

Yesterday one of my neighbors who has become a good friend went shopping and bought me a package of pork chops.
She said its just an inexpensive package but I though you would enjoy the pork chops and I wanted to get you something you would enjoy
since you are always sharing the food you make and  post on line with all of us.
I thanked her but told her she did not need to thank me I really liked sharing and I needed the feedback.

I know a lot of people stay away from making pork chops because they tend to dry out and have very little flavor.
If cooked right they are juicy and delicious.
I wanted to make a pork chop dinner I knew would be easy and the pork would have lots of flavor.
Here is what I chose to make:

Glazed Pork Chops

Ingredients:

2  pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
¼ cup brown sugar
½ tsp cayenne powder
½ tsp garlic salt
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

1.  Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a bowl combine the brown sugar and spices (salt, pepper, cayenne, paprika and garlic salt )
3. Remove the pork chops from their package and rub the brown sugar/spice mix all over both sides. Use all of the spice mix.
4. 2 Tbsp of olive oil in a skillet over medium/high heat. When the oil is nice and hot, add the pork chops.
5. Cook the chops for about 5 minutes on each side or until they are nicely browned.
6. Place in oven and cook for 15 minutes.
Remove the chops from the oven and cover both sides of the pork chops with the glaze and just before serving spoon the balance of the sauce over the pork chops.

The sauce is a sweet sauce with an undercurrent of heat.

I served with these pork chops peas and apple sauce.
But these are so good anything you enjoy with pork would be great.
