My New Year's resolution this year was eat healthy. To complish this I'm careful about what I buy and I have stopped baking.
I read about this recipe in the story I am reading and it sounded so good I had to look up the recipe.
I am not going to make this cake but if someone around me wants to make this cake and share a slice with me I wouldn't say no.
Just a suggestion because I know some of you will want to try this it sounds so good.
I mean how can butter and cream cheese ever not be wonderful?
Here is the recipe:
Ooey Gooey Butter Cake
Ingredients
1 (18 1/4 oz) package yellow cake mix
1 egg
16 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (16 oz) box powdered sugar
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°.
Combine the cake mix, egg and 8 tablespoons butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla and 8 tablespoons butter and beat together.
Next, add the powdered sugar and mix well. Spread over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to over bake as the center should be a little gooey.
I have included a picture, not one I took, but one I found online just to show you what it's supposed to look like.
