Maple Pork, Wild Rice, Onions, & Pecans
Yesterday I made a pork roast and added a little maple syrup and balsamic vinegar along with an onion and apple.
That is just the way I make a pork roast.
You can use whatever method you are used to but I do suggest the apple and onions for the dish that I made today.
I found a complicated recipe on the back of Uncle Bens original wild rice.
I knew I wouldn't bother doing all the steps that they suggested so I kind of cut them down to size so it could be quick easy and so good!
Here is the recipe.
Ingredients & Directions:
Use the left over onions and Apple from the roast.
Cut up about a quarter pound up to a half a pound of the pork roast you made into chunks.
Put all together until you make this recipe.
When you are ready to make this recipe cook the rice according to package directions and heat in the microwave for about 3 minutes the mixture you saved, just to get it warmed up.
Meanwhile add 1/4 cup of maple syrup to the rice as it's cooking.
When the rice is done cooking add your bag of pork onions and apple to the rice.
Stir together and allow the heat through for a few minutes.
As soon as the rice mixture is heated through chop up some pecans or walnuts and mix it in to the rice.
I placed whole pecans on the top just for a decorative element
Then it is ready to serve.
This is such an easy way to use leftovers from your pork roast and serve an awesome meal that you will enjoy over and over again every time you make a pork roast.
